The ERS group covers the full range of workplace related issues, with scope to work across other KWM offices nationally. You will work primarily with our Brisbane Partner, Jamie Wells, and Senior Associates. Jamie Wells is a very experienced practitioner with over 18 years’ experience as a partner. He has significant experience across the full spectrum of employment issues, covering transactional work, advisory, and disputes. He has an established profile in business restructuring, including public sector privatisation roles. This is reflected in his current practice.
The work covers both front and/or back end work, where preferences can be accommodated.
Recently, the team has roles:
in Federal Court employment class action litigation for a global mining operator;
advising on industrial relations on the State’s cornerstone infrastructure project;
advising on employment and industrial relations for the State’s new energy generation GOC; and
a national restructure of a key hospitality and gaming client.
The team works with an enviable range of national and international clients.
You will have
excellent analytical, communication and research skills - to deliver prompt and commercially astute advice
strong commitment to client service and well-developed relationship management ability - you will play a key role in supporting and actively developing our relationships with our clients
team focus - to mentor junior colleagues and ensure the effective utilisation of the group
enthusiasm to be involved in business development activities – managing and developing strategic relationships and networks
You will have recognised workplace relations experience gained in a similar environment and enjoy working as part of a committed team.
As a senior lawyer within the team you will be expected to maintain your networks to enhance development of the practice and be actively involved in business development. You will have proven experience in assistance in the management of teams and allocating resources to ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of solicitor skill sets. You will be expected to contribute to the development of the practice so that commercially sensible and innovative solutions are provided to our clients.
