About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic Switchboard Operator to join our team and work from 1.00pm to 9.00pm, Monday to Wednesday each week.  These hours are subject to change with daylight savings and may revert to 2.00pm - 10.00pm, when required.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Perform all duties associated with the various Business Services areas where assigned.  In particular, switchboard operations, document production, record management, mail and general client service areas and the related tasks.
  • Answer all switchboard calls efficiently and in a pleasant, professional and helpful manner.
  • Possess a clear understanding of systems and processes associated with each of the Business Services areas.
  • Manage work flow and tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department and enhancement of our client service levels.
  • Develop and maintain good relationship with internal and external clients.
  • Respond to client (internal and external) requests efficiently and effectively.
  • From an OH&S perspective, ensure the tenancy is a safe and secure environment, ie no tripping hazards in corridors etc.
  • When requested, displays flexibility in work hours to ensure areas as covered accordingly.
  • Undertakes other duties and projects as requested by Business Services Leader, Business Services Manager and Switchboard Coordinator.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy at all times, understands and adheres to the firm’s strategies and behaves in a manner that is consistent with the KWM brand and reputation.

Qualifications / experience:

  • A Year 12 certificate and a business administration course, or similar, is desirable but not essential.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Knowledge of legal office/corporate environment.
  • Experience as corporate Switchboard Operator and/or Reception.
  • Knowledge of Business Services processes mail distribution, switchboard, document production or records management.
