Our clerk and graduate programs are a significant talent pipeline for our firm, this is an opportunity to influence and drive the success of KWM.

Reporting to the Head of Resourcing, you will be part of the Resourcing team and wider People & Development function. You will be responsible for leading the national graduate team, with the support of state based graduate specialists, and passionate Partner stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to review, refresh and continue the roll out of best practice initiatives and national program management of graduates and clerks.

This is a pivotal role with a focus on ensuring KWM are employer of choice for clerks and graduates, and that once part of the KWM team, they develop and grow their career with us!  


Working closely with state-based specialists, this is a relationship role that will also lean on your strategic thinking capability.

With one direct report (and a team of local specialists) your key responsibilities will be:

  • Maintaining and improving our position as a leading graduate employer
  • Management of attraction and marketing strategies for early careers talent including virtual experiences and campus activity
  • Overseeing development of national approach and schedule to clerkship and graduate programs
  • Management of national recruitment and selection approach and processes for clerkship and graduate positions
  • Management of Australian Graduate Recruitment Budget
  • Annual review of program feedback, market positioning and recommendations for future strategy based on insights
  • Collaboration on national graduate development throughout program with Talent & Capability team
  • Assist in various HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Who we are looking for?

You will be passionate about supporting and developing early career professionals and understand the importance of being a brand ambassador through every touch point of a graduates journey. You are excited about making a significant organisational impact and be able to bring internal stakeholders on the journey with you.

You will also need:

  • Strong experience in all aspects of Graduate recruitment in Australia, preferably with a national remit within professional services (legal not essential but looked on favourably)
  • Current knowledge of trends and developments in early careers talent programs
  • A passion and commitment to innovation and Diversity & Inclusion
  • Exceptional stakeholder management
  • Budget Management experience
  • Leadership experience highly regarded
  • Exceptional project management skills and enjoyment working in a timeline driven space
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
