We are seeking a senior associate that is passionate about the real estate sector to join our Sydney Project & Real Estate team.

Our Work

Our National Real Estate team provides a full service offering to the real estate sector, including both the public and private sectors and domestic and international participants.  The team’s expertise and specialism spans the commercial, residential, industrial, retail, agricultural, hotel and health sectors, and regularly involves work on large scale developments, urban regeneration, key public infrastructure developments and major project works.   Our National Real Estate team thrive on assisting clients with their complex real estate transactions. 

About You

You will have (deep) experience in the real estate sector, and have had exposure to large and complex transactions (including development and urban regeneration projects and investment into such projects) within a first-tier or high profile real estate practice. You will be familiar with common development and property investment structures and have an understanding of the legal and other risks to key participants and stakeholders in complex real estate transactions and an ability to apply core real estate and commercial law principles to manage and mitigate those risks.  You will have some familiarity with other specialisms and disciplines that impact on complex real estate transactions, including foreign investment, stamp duty, tax, trusts and funds management and corporations law, financing, construction and environment and planning matters. 

You will have

  • excellent analytical and (oral and written) communication skills
  • strong commitment to client service
  • a team focus (including an ability and willingness to mentor junior team members) and be self-aware  – being able to collaborate and work in a team is critical to success at KWM
  • strong drafting and legal analysis skills
  • a strong knowledge of the national real estate sector
  • a positive (and flexible) attitude and will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and willing to grab all opportunities that cross your path
  • matter management skills - an ability to appropriately scope matters and manage fee estimates and billing
