About the role

KWM’s Sydney office (located in the prominent One Farrer precinct) are on the lookout for a Kitchen Hand to join the corporate Hospitality team at a leading international law firm. This role is open to both candidates with relevant experience, as well as those new to the industry who are keen to learn and with the right attitude.

You’ll be working with an exceptionally professional, friendly and collaborative hospitality team, so someone with an open communication style, good work ethic and flexible approach will fit right in. You certainly won’t be pigeonholed to back of house either – some assistance to front of house staff may be requested, so there will be the opportunity for involvement in the firm’s client floor operations.

Daily duties will include:

  • Washing and storing dishes, glassware, pots and utensils
  • Cleaning kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Maintaining all kitchen working areas to workplace standards
  • Checking and storing incoming stock deliveries
  • Stock rotation and collection from storage areas
  • Basic food preparation
  • Assistance with café operation and deliveries
  • Cleaning and restocking internal tea rooms as required
  • Adhering to safe and hygienic work practices at all times

This role is offered on a 12 month contract basis, with full time hours (Monday to Friday) and leave entitlements included.

What experience are we looking for?

  • Previous experience highly regarded, however candidates without experience but with the right attitude encouraged to apply!
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience performing routine or process driven tasks
  • Client and team focussed
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to follow instructions and work unsupervised at times
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy and all times
  • Hospitality accreditations highly regarded
