Solicitors (2pqe+ up to Senior Associate Level) - Dispute Resolution – Construction Disputes – 12 month contract

We are seeking a number of solicitors (2pqe + up to Senior Associate level) ideally with a background in Construction disputes to join our market-leading and dynamic Dispute Resolution team on a 12 month contract.  Those seeking a shorter contract period are also encouraged to apply.

About the team

Our Partners Peter Pether, Hamish MacPherson, Travis Toemoe and Peter Yeldham are known for the depth and breadth of their experience.  Frequently listed in legal publications for their expertise, you will be working with Partners whose reputations are second to none.  Working closely together is vital to the success of our friendly team. We regularly work with specialists from other practice groups and use sophisticated electronic tools to assist us.  Our workload is varied and interesting, we act in most of Australia's large and complex disputes, investigations and public inquiries. When a judgment is handed down or a settlement is achieved you have a real sense of accomplishment knowing that you were part of the team putting the case together.

About the role

This role will offer a unique opportunity to work on some of the largest arbitrations in Australian history.  Your role will be broad and interesting and will include, but is not limited to: 

  • Conducting reviews of files
  • Preparation of summaries
  • Participating in extensive lay and expert witness interviews
  • Assisting with Hearing preparation
  • Providing support to Partners and Counsel during the hearing.

You will have

  • Previous experience as a solicitor with construction litigation experience preferred, but not essential
  • First rate written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent drafting skills including experience of drafting court documents and evidence
  • Strong organisational skills, time management skills and the ability to work methodically and with accuracy
  • A desire to work in a professional and friendly team
  • A commitment to achieving the best results for clients
